About Hello Maps
Our Mission: To provide high-quality, browser-based geospatial utility tools that solve the most common, tedious daily tasks of GIS analysts and developers — instantly, with no login, no server, and no cost.
Why We Built This
Hello Maps started simply as a personal collection of tools. As a GIS professional, I frequently found myself wasting time searching for reliable online tools to do simple, everyday tasks like converting coordinate reference systems, extracting bounding boxes from a map, or validating GeoJSON files.
Most of the existing options out there were either slow, cluttered with intrusive ads, required creating an account, or, worse yet, forced you to upload your sensitive geographic data to an unknown server. After building these lightweight tools to solve my own workflow bottlenecks, I thought: why not release them to the broader community?
That's how Hello Maps was born—a platform built by a GIS professional, for GIS professionals, with a focus on speed, accuracy, and respecting your privacy.
How It Works (Privacy First)
Our core promise is that your data never leaves your machine. All of the computation, whether it's reprojecting coordinates across thousands of EPSG codes or parsing complex geometry, happens entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript.
Because there is no server-side processing, there are no uploads, no downloads, and no waiting. It's fast, and completely private. You can read more about our data practices in our Privacy Policy.
